Today is the start of my extremely short 'holiday'. After a rough night yesterday or rather early this morning due to the fact i was anxiously waiting for someone who stood me up without any replies!blargh! I understand the situation and stuff but hey, i'm still human right? And what would you feel if u continuously wait for something that stood you up without any form of decent excuse or reasoning or rather informing you about it? blargh...Nevermind lar...Now i forbid to talk or complain about this to my friends because they are all so tired of hearing me each and everyday(they claim lar...i probably do it subconciously) SO now i will just eat it up all to myself and one fine day, KABOOM!
Anyhow, i was quite suprise i managed to wake up as early as 9.30 minusing the fact that i slept close to 6am. WEnt to church ON TIME! Had worship practise. One thing i like about today's 'devotion' was IT WAS DIFFERENT!! Instead of sitting around in circles and reading the bible,listening to the leader or rather a round of prayer before we start each practise...TOday we did a little role playing. It started off like this,
G man : worship leader
Ruth : pastor?
Me : Usher/musician?
Eel : worship coordinator
Wei zian : best-est worship leader
Rachel tan : friend of G-man
Situation : Our dream church(everything perfect and stuff)
It had a kick start when G-man asked me to come up front(at that point i was still stonning :p) He said hi, i replied, HI! Cheerful me! ahaha.. He heard from a friend rachel that this church was the bomb!!! So he wanted to test it out because he felt uncomfortable in his church and LONELY! He was talking about how awesome pastor ruth was and how great of a worship leader WZ was and wanted to meet them. Cheerful me said okay...intro intro bla bla...THen they talked(here comes the serious part)
He was so curious about our church and he wanted to know if we were like the rest of the churches who go around saying ' you can talk to me if u need a ear to listen but then sticking to their own clicks' Being me, i said ' dont worry, we will try to listen to you and im sure you will fit in, just give it a try' My phrase was back out by the rest of the crew. AFter going on and on for about 15minutes? We ended with this conclusion :
- Apart from being musicians,worship leaders,PA dudes, Projectionist, we are also call to socialize with people and make them feel welcome!(we dont expect someone to come to you saying he/she is new- it supposed to be you going up to them and making friends)
- Worship is our intimate relationship with GOd. The music is nothing! SEriously! The heart must be there!!!!
- The closeness of the team is really important because the congregation wouldnt want to see a team who is so splited and in their own worlds would they? WE are up there leading the people to worship. Like daniel(the keyboardist,forgot his surname) said, we are going up there to worship God, we should give it our very best! No such thing as being late, not practising and etc....
Another thing i felt today was that, although it was merely a practise. I really felt that i could worship Him and that everything else didnt matter. I know we should try our best to make it perfect but even with flaws once awhile,who cares! Set our burdens to Him and he will grant us peace! Im really thankful to be on this week. I manage to remind myself the true meaning of worship(you know lar,everyone needs to be reminded once awhile!)
Ooh...i will post up yummy food later ber ber!ahaaha...Now..still stoned...ahaha
