Independence Day

Fact of the day : Today is Malaysia's Independence day!

How is it like here during Merdeka? Well there's not much Merdeka being in a different country but you will be pleased to know that this country will be celebrating their independence day this Thursday. Everything will be shut for 2 days. WOW!

Truth be told. People here definitely can use some holiday. They work really really hard!

On a side note : Made pineapple tarts :) hehehehe!

Day 11, 12, 13

Fact of the day : Labour cost in here is really low ie underpaid workers.

Sorry that I've been missing in action for a few days. Been busy with things. Waking up really early since my return from spore. Shocking eh? LOL.

Tomorrow the day my nephew comes. YAY!!!!! Can't wait. Counting down the hours.

FYI : He's a really cute boy and really smart too. Gives me something to do hear to kill boredom :)

Days away....

Fact of the day : Fat people is less hired compared to thin people? (quote from a current working person)

Went to Singapore for a holiday and met up with my relatives. This was one of the motion that's mind boggling. Apparently, if an employer has to choose between person A (fat) and person B (Thin) with the same qualifications, B will definitely get it because A is fat and less attractive ie seen as less presentable and confident.

What bollocks is this? People in the region outside Asia are not exactly on the 'skinny'(looking aneroxic) kind of scale. So are we saying that they can't get jobs? Or are we saying that, I should look for a job abroad where I'm considered thin since in this region I'm a fatty? So much for equal rights eh? Think about it.

Day 10

Fact of the day : It is rather hard to find shuttle cocks around here.

Went around looking for shuttle cocks to play since my bro keeps feeding the shuttle to the trees around us. Everyday they receive a new 'flower' hahaha!

It's been raining for these past few days. I wish it will just stop so that we could go out and play :)

Day 9

Fact of the day : Vietnamese food ain't too bad if you know where to eat!

Went to a hotel with mom to try their Vietnamese cuisine. Order a set lunch menu. It was surprisingly good. PS : Vietnam Kitchen in Malaysia is not Vietnamese food. Trust me. It taste a whole lot yuckier here! (to me at least because I don't quite fancy their authentic food)

Did a few more shopping here and there for the Singapore trip soon :)

Day 8

Fact of the day : Dancing is fun :)

Went clubbing with mom and her friends. Yes, MOM. It was fun. There was a live band and the songs played were really in our generation type songs. It was in a hotel so it wasn't so bad. There were people smoking all around though and there were 2 girls who were trying so hard to seduce guys there. You could just give them a pole and they will make good strippers! (No, i'm not being harsh, everyone on the dance floor agreed that they were bit too over the top!)

Got back late and felt asleep till 2 pm the next day. hahahha!

Day 7

Fact of the day : The local people here are stubborn and pushy!

Went to church this morning to find out that the pastor was no longer preaching in the church due to visa disapproval. How sad. He was indeed an interesting pastor with really short but informative sermons. Mom said he will be back once awhile to 'spot' check the church. Currently, they are inviting different speakers from different places (countries) to share the word with us :)

Nothing much done today apart from slight shopping. Not sure if I'm actually thinking straight when I shop or do I just look to see if it's nice, check the price, bargain and buy?LOL. Bought 2 dresses and 4 tops today for about 100rm! :) happy happy happy!

Wonders what I'm going to do tomorrow though and days after before heading to Kiasu-land. LOL

Due to all the extra time I have (since there's nothing much to do here), I'm missing you loads...

August 14, 2010

Day 6

Fact of the day : It's easier to get sun burnt here than back home.

Went swimming today for an hour and got myself burnt! NOT tanned but burnt! I have 2 roasted RED cheeks and one slightly RED arm. LOL. Oh well.

I also realised how unfit I am. Can't swim as much as last time already :(

Why is size/weight such a great deal in this region of the world? Why can't fat people live happily without anyone mocking them? Is life really all about being thin? Hmph. I rather be fat and fit compared to thin and sickly! *annoyed from the comments received since my return, yes I'm fat(in the asian region) but I'm not that fat*

Tomorrow's Sunday, the day of rest and church :)

August 13, 2010

Day 5

Fact of the day : Life's a routine here.

Yes i know that many may say that it is a routine everywhere but hey, I'm on holiday. It's supposed to be fun and full of adventure yet I do the same set of things daily. Wake up. Go out. Meet dad for lunch. Look around /shopping (though I didn't buy anything for the past few days). Home. Dinner. Tv. Sleep.

Being back home in Malaysia makes it slightly different because there are friends/relatives to hangout with it. Not so troublesome to move from one area to another too. (here is very driver dependent)

Tomorrow I'm following dad to golf. Something different from the past 5 days. Hope I'll somehow have fun. LOL

August 12, 2010

Day 4 in HCMC

Fact of the day : In Asian cities, you will be charge more if your seen with an 'angmoh'!

Why? This is because we think they have more cash and not so kiasu in terms of bargaining for the cheapest prices (value for money stuff) LOL.

Met this half British, half Malaysian dude in Benh Thanh while he was buying a pair of board shorts. Converse with him for about 15minutes after knowing that he will be working in Malaysia for a year in PJ (Yes the world is getting smaller. HAHA)

I would have to say in terms of looks and body structure : Not bad!
Quite buff and due to him being a mix breed.. normal-lah! hahahaha!

More shopping tomorrow hopefully :)

The correlation of climatic changes with daily living...

Its been ages since I'd last updated. Been busy during uni times. Since, it's the summer vacation period, I have loads of time available to update ;)

Mmm.. Don't you ever wonder if the changes in temperature and weather affects your mood/daily living? I certainly think it does. I don't remember myself being so grouchy in UK compared to Malaysia. Maybe it's something to do with how fast pace our life is in KL compared to the laid back UK? MMMMmmm..

Don't we all wish life could be a whole lot simpler? In relationship terms, searching for a job terms, uni life terms.... The sermon last Sunday in City Harvest KL said that we should always stretch our faith. *trying trying*

As we get older, I start realizing how stupid both genders are. Guys are actually more complicated than they sound and girls just can't resist falling for jerks. Weird eh how all of these works? LOL.

Guys are so different from girls. Some of them are romantic, some practical, some... mmm.. not sure? LOL
(you see, they're not as simple as we think. HAHA) how do people in the olden days fall in love? It must be really different back then compared to now. For one, there are more material to clothes than there are now. hahaha! people were less physically obsessed. Oh well.

I have no idea what i'm rambling. Just a random 'what comes up in mind' kinda thing :) hehehe!

Stupid workload lar :( Hope to see you next weekend *cross fingers* Have a fantastic time in Manchester and partying after! Will speak to you soon :) xoxo

4th week in the running...

Term has started for a good 4 weeks. Assignments are starting to pile up and rushing for deadlines is going to start soon :(

I'm currently staying in a new house with my lovely housemates from the christian union/church. They are nice, polite, kind, lovely etc housemates. This doesnt mean they have no flaws! They are messy, untidy, scatty, always bringing people over to the house.... In the first 2 weeks, they managed to break 4 out of 8 glasses, a mug, a curry jar and broke a spoon? They take ages to get things done(kwai lo habit?). I was the one who had to settled the internet because they didnt realised that changing phone number ie, need to tell broadband provider to get internet. They thought it would magically appear -.-

Dont get me wrong, i do love them. Just some bits of them gets me annoyed - tolerable so far :) 6 policeman came by the house the other day at 5am because one of my mates were scared that someone(possibly a drunkard fresher) was trying to enter for 20mins. Police came knocking on all individual doors. Were bit freaked out but all's good now :)

How's everyone's week doing? Apart from all this little stuff, everything here is good! XD

Arrived!

Its been awhile since i've blogged because i've just gotten my internet fixed. No thanks to some people who did nothing apart from complaining.

Left Malaysia on the 23rd of Sept at 2am. It took me exactly 24hours to reach London due to a long 6 hours delay. Initial flight was supposed to be 18 hours with 4 hours transiting time. Then we were urgent to the plane for boarding. The crew was mean enough to not less us off when they knew there was a long engineering work going on. We were in there for 3 solid hours before they realised that we should be boarded off for some compensation lunch just to wait another 3 hours before we depart dubai. What a horrible journey eh? When we arrived Heathrow, everyone was tired, not to mention having to queue for solid hour at immigration due to the massive load of passengers.

Next day, had to leave london for aber. Our london- Birm train arrived late so we missed the connecting train to aber by a minute and had to wait 2 hours for the next one. I'm just pretty much jinx aren't i? Thankfully all that is gone and behind us now!

Term started and its starting to get hectic, not to mention the frequent parties being organised in my house is driving me crazy if this continues this way! Urgh.. more rants later.. Not to mention no one seems to be reading my blog anymore..

2 days in counting!!!! :(

Can you believe that it's been 3 months since i got back and its coming to the time where i have to bid farewell to mommy and daddy, relatives and friends. Dad's not allowing me to come back next summer hence i'm feeling rather emo than usual.. Its going to be real sad for not being able to see everyone for the next 2 years or so. Time is indeed passing by ever so quickly. Been so busy with lunches, dinners, buying stuff and soon packing!!!!! Oh boy, i pray i dont overload my stuff!!!! Sobs..

Due to such perfect timing, i have yet to meet up with my bestie since i returned home from vietnam. When i'm free, she's busy and vice versa.. Oh well..good thing there's msn/facebook/skype/phone! hehehe! Shall see if we will have the chance to meet up before me fly off..

September 18, 2009

Current tiring trends >>> Should i just give up?

Current tiring trends eh? Well. That's because ever since I've returned home from Vietnam, the same routine of things been happening (not in a good way) and of all times, why is it now? The week before i depart back to the UK?

Got into a small arguement with the bestie because of a guy. A stupid idiotic guy! (now now, please dont jump into conclusions. Its really a private story so not going to bocor here or EVER!lol)
Another bestie lied to me having dinner with someone else thinking it was a better solution? HARLO! SHOULDNT U KNOW ME WELL ENOUGH TO KNOW I HATE PPL LYING TO ME?urgh!

The best story of the lot...
I went to UK a year ago along with another friend who left the same time but we were separated by the choice of University we chose. It was approximately 4-5hours away by train. I was asked several times to meet up if ever I head down to London for a visit. Without having the correct facts, I was accused of being down in London many times without scheduling a meet up when by right, I only went down twice (once was when my friend was already back in Msia and another was during easter). I rang during easter but my friend was about to take off for her holidays and I had family stuff to do since my cousin came up, camps to go for, studies to attend to. I rarely spoke to this friend over the year( I tried several times, trust me!)
When we got back to Malaysia. I was glad to know she's down in KL hence we planned for a meet up with the usual crew to only noticed how cold she was towards me. Just a few days back I realised it wasnt just to me. It was to a few of us. Felt so used... I texted/msn/FB = no reply!Hmph. In uk, we only talked when there was problems on that side... Hmph.. Oh well.. What's going on now?? What should i do? I'm so sick of dramas... Honestly..

Apart from that, I'm wondering if this other friend hates me or something. She seems to reply everyone but me. I msn/facebook/inbox her but there's no reply and clearly she was AVAILABLE and chatting to my other friend but just not me at the same time.. Yes we are indeed not that close, but there's nothing wrong asking people how are they and stuff right? Oh well... Should i give up attempting a conversation or should i continue on and giving the benefit of the doubt that she's 'busy'? hmmm....

September 16, 2009

Too many things, too little time...

The days are passing by ever so quickly. It seems like it was just yesterday that I'd arrived home in Malaysia and now, 3 months is up!!!!! *screams* I'm now left with less than a week. Soon it will be a day and soon an hour. I'm indeed not ready to be back yet. I still want to stay here and indulge in more food and hanging out with friends as well as family time!

Dad's not letting me home next summer till after graduation. Will this farewell bring out the emoness in me more than it did in the 1st year? Hmmm.....

Revive Attempt 3 : Vietnam

My blog's revival weekly is almost a failure. Shall get it going slowly :)

Yes indeed I have flown myself all the way to Vietnam. Have been here for quite awhile hence the silence from me in Malaysia. Will be back soon and have about a week's plus or so before i fly off again half way across the world to the UK. According to dad, i'm not comng back anymore till i graduate. Well i guess i got to endure all the glorious food i can now right? I've been gaining inches everywhere while i'm here in Vietnam - Food, Glorious Food!lol. Indeed is depressing but going back to ulu land will get me food deprived all over again..

While I was here my family and I took a trip to Nha Trang for 3 days and 2 nights to an island called Vinpearl Land - Boy dont they have the weirdest names here eh? There's a themepark and an entire resort & spa on this island. Its apparently bought over by a Vietnamese who's currently working in Russia now. Boy aint the fella rich! An entire island!!! *will upload pictures and give a full update in the next post*

I've also gone on a shopping craze here in Vietnam. As limited luggage allowance i'm allowed to pack back to the UK, i'm going overboard with the stuff im buying. I bought 10 pajamas sets and 2 pajamas dresses (no idea why, they just look really pretty ok....) , bought 14 tops and 2 long sleeves top. Hopefully i'll be able to bring it all back to UK. hehehe!

Gosh, almost every blog i'm reading these days is all about people leaving back to their respectives places to continue studying. Soon, its my time to fly too. Sadness! Once i head back home to Malaysia there's going to be so much to do and so little time not to mention all the people i have to catch up with before i fly off. Yikes! *prays time wont fly so quickly!*

Revive Attempt 2

AS most of you know, I was rather busy with my internship this summer. I was placed in the Tax department of company XY, an auditing, tax and consultation firm. To my surprised, for someone who hated accounts and almost everything about it, tax was 80% accounting. Being an economics & mathematics student, I felt rather leftout, having to be thought everything from scratch by my patient supervisor. Everyone there was an accounts grad!!!!!

I've learnt so much during this weeks of internship. It really felt worth while doing it for the experience no doubts some mishaps here and there. I was initially promised a pay of XXX amount in the offer letter. On the day of payment, i only gotten YYY amount which is approximately 200rm less than the promised deal!

Reason : XXX its too much for her, she's not working for 6 months! Her's is a special case!
(why is it special case? Hello i need to return to uk for my studies lar and is it special because im not going to be some form of cheap labour for 6 months?urgh)

Hello! I worked equally as long as those 6 months intern! I do the exact same thing(in fact i think we were working like a permanent staff) and it was in my contract which obviously you voided and i could actually use to sue you! - reason for not sueing is because its such a hassle and for just rm200? Oh well. I learnt my lesson that i will never go back to this company ever again... even if i cant find a job in the near future. It will be the last place i'll ever look!

Office rules : unreasonable ones!
1. No sms/calls in the office - what if there's an emergency? stupid rule right?
2. No usage of browsing unless its work related, not even during lunch break - wth!
3. Not allowed to on the computer unless using it, save electricity - kiamsiap!
4. No shoes allowed in the office due to cleanliness - hmm..what if those worms go up through our feet le?never learn science?
5. Official hours 9am - 7pm monday to fridays, 9am -1pm alternate saturdays, Overtime expected during deadlines!

Madness i tell you! I'm fine with most of the rules but the part of the boss being so kiamsiap! Urgh! Annoying... Hence, being interns = GET READY FOR MAXIMUM UTILISATION OF LABOUR RESOURCES

On a positive side, i appreciate the experienced gained.

Revive Attempt 1: After 2 months of deadness!

Its been ages since I'd last blogged. Been quite busy and occupied with my internship that causes me to turned down or ffk people at the last minute, REALLY REALLY SORRY FOR THAT GUYS! Its been hectic, working from 9am till 7pm officially and was supposed to come in on every alternate Saturdays from 9am till 1pm. Its the most taxing and crazy ass jobs ever! I appreciate the experienced gained, of course! Had a little trouble at work as well. Some people are just too cheap to pay me the exact amount that was agreed on earlier in my writen offer letter(will elaborate further in another post)

For those people who i ffk-ed recently(especially seok),
I'm really sorry. Been really tired after work and sad to say i have no life since internship started :( Its not that i dont wana meet up, its just that work finishes late and the times before that were just bad timing? Almost all the times i was called out i had some family stuff on which caused me to turn all else down. Oh well.. lets still keep in touch with MSN, facebook etc ya?

Shall try to post up pictures or blog more often now. Been neglecting this dude for ages! lol! Hope everyone is having a blast during summer break :)
